Within just the first week of having Sable at my home, she went from shaking and hiding in her crate to shyly welcoming my friends at the door and confidently sprawling out on my carpet in a blissful state of doggy nirvana! She comes to work with me nearly every day and meets new people with more confidence each time. Now, she loves the attention and affection she gets when meeting new people and is thriving on all her new worldly experiences. Sometimes she looks up at me with a expression that says "I had no idea humans could be so nice!" On the days she has to stay at home, my roomate says Sable sleeps quietly in her crate until I return. She is great with my roomate's dog and cat and is extremely well behaved indoors and out.
I take her on nearly all car excursions that I go on and she is patient, mannerly, and just happy to be with me. Her playful side is starting to come out too. She has recently been caught prancing and smiling! Sable is a super-snuggler and will warm your feet as you quietly read or, if asked, cuddle up with you on the couch.
Sable will stick right by your side on walks, never pulling on the leash. She seems to know exactly where you are going without having to say a word. She is such an easy, patient and mellow companion! Sable is eager to please and loves praise and encouragement as she explores her new world.
She would be a perfect companion for someone who is retired or has a lifestyle on the quieter side. Because she was a stray, we do not have a history of her with children, so we cannot place her in a home with kids under 13.
In a nutshell, she is a sweetie-pie!! Sable would rather do what you are doing and be with you, than anything else on the planet. She just wants to find that special someone who will appreciate and return her devotion, adoration and love!
