About Casi/AdoptPend

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
Casi is a very young female, under a year. She is being fosterd with cats and other dogs. She was thrown out of the back of a truck by some men and rescued by a Good Samaritan, then brought to our rescue. Needless to say, she is quite timid. We are bringing her out of her shell in her new foster home. Thankyou again Laura!!!!!. She is affectionate with those she trusts and really enjoys playing with the other dogs. Foster Home Update: Casi is an energetic, gentle and quiet girl who is comfortable with other dogs, with cats, and is very friendly with well-known people. She is very shy with strangers and will hide or, if on leash, will strain with all of her might to avoid getting closer.

After only a week in her current foster home, Casi jumped into bed predawn with her humans, cuddled up close, and slept until midmorning. Even though she’s frightened of strangers, once she’s decided you’re okay she’s expressive and companionable, she reaches out with her paws as if she’s petting us or asking to be petted, rolls over for tummy rubs, and comes running if you say “let’s go outside” with the leash in hand. She spends quiet time sitting at her human’s feet or in her crate.

She’s very quick to understand and responds to “come,” “sit,” “that’s okay,” and “no”. She loves to ride in the car. She jumps in as if panicked, suggesting that an earlier guardian gave her some harsh lessons about getting into the car quickly. Once in the car, she curls up in a corner of the backseat or passenger side floor and rides very quietly, sometimes napping. Sometimes she doesn’t want to get out of the car and will stay until you lift her 60+ lbs out and set her on the ground. Then she joins you eagerly.

Her new home would need to be with people who are looking for a gentle, non-alpha companion, who are willing to let her have her quiet time in her crate or other hideaway, and who would like to help her learn to socialize and trust newcomers.
