Layla is friendly and playful with other dogs, fiercely loyal to her main person, but very shy with new people. With her main person, she is affectionate, attentive, and responsive. She often puts her paws gently in your lap or rolls over on her back to ask for petting or a hug. She stays very close by, at home or in public places, she comes eagerly when you call, but she wants to hide rather than greet new people. Since being abandoned in early December with her identical brother, this 64-pound, muscular, one-year-old has been getting acquainted with people and dogs in foster homes. Layla has hiked forest-park trails, visited one fenced off-leash park, and frequented Petco to meet rescue greyhounds and choose a new collar. She is progressing --sometimes showing more curiosity than fear-- but will need continued and steady encouragement, socializing, and exposure to new situations. Layla is leash friendly, quiet and gentle, likes to chase cats, likes to romp with her canine foster brother and sister, and likes to sleep in her foster parents’ bed. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and ready to start meeting potential new families.
