German Shepherd Dog / Mixed : : Male : : Young : : X-Large
Nash could be both your teddy bear and your watch dog. This boy is 100-plus pounds, vigorous and playful, healthy and carefree. He’s all black except for a touch of tan on his lower legs and tail, and a flash of white on his chest. From the first moment, he’s friendly to everyone, always ready to play, or to roll over for a tummy rub. On the other hand, when he chooses to warn a possible intruder, his size coupled with his deep and resonant bark create an effective alert. Please contact Andrea if you would like to meet Nash at 425-888-1102
He is mostly German shepherd, but his square, muscular body, and broad head and muzzle, and floppy ears suggest something else, perhaps Labrador Retriever, in his genetic history.
This young adult male was left behind when his owners moved to a new home. At the shelter, he won the hearts of the staff with his affectionate and gentle demeanor. Now that he is in foster care, that same gentle, loving demeanor is quickly apparent as he gets acquainted with new families of people and dogs.
He settles into a new home quickly, stops when you tell him not to chase the cat, interacts calmly with resident animals. He likes to gnaw on a bone, to confidently snap a morsel of food out of the air, and to chase a ball but doesn’t care if he retrieves it. He’s playful and peaceful with other animals, but when invited, he participates energetically in establishment of pack hierarchy.
Nash is attentive to requests, goes to a crate when asked and rests quietly there, likes to be with people but can also be by himself for periods of time without apparent distress. He is a gentleman while riding or waiting in the car. He knows what “no” means, he isn’t quite sure what “sit” means, and he will need a little work to walk gently on leash.
Do you have time or space to exercise a big dog? Do you have a friendly dog who could use a friend? Are there attentive dog-lovers in your family? This dog is ready to go home – he’s up-to-date on inoculations and neutered.
