Read through to the bottom for an update on this beautiful young dog! A HUGE Thank You to Trinka's Guardian Angels, the Anderson Family, for offering to pay for Trinka's surgery to repair her badly broken leg. You are amazing!! Trinka was found at schoolyard, where she lived for several weeks living off of lunches from the kids and when the teachers saw her disfigured broken foreleg they brought her into the shelter. The accident probably happened about 3 weeks prior to being discovered in the schoolyard so the broken bone had healed very badly and Trinka was in considerable pain. She is under a year of age and a nice, sweet dog. The vet techs adore her and the kids never had any problems with her considering the amount of pain she was in while living on the school grounds.
UPDATE ON TRINKA!! Lovely Trinka has received her surgery and is in recovery. Trinka had surgery at the WSU veterinary teaching hospital. The surgeons treated her for a badly broken right forepaw that had healed in such a manner that she had no range of motion in the leg. The technical term for her condition was correction of carpal hyperflexion. The surgery was a success, and now Trinka will have to completely stay off of her leg for the next 8 wks. She has had an incredible series of events that have led her from being a stray, hurt dog on the road, to living in a wonderful home with caring angels as her new guardians! Wow!!! These are the happy endings that we all live for....
