Are you an active couple, or single, looking for a dog that will share your love of outdoor exercise then lie at your feet in the evening while you read the paper or watch tv? Olive is a rare mix of trained adult and lively companion. She is excellent on a leash--walking or running--and, though I haven't tested her, will probably run well with a bicyclist. She focuses on her human partner and ignores the squirrels, cats, and other distractions along the way. She also loves to fetch a tennis ball--at the dog park, in a fenced yard, or even in the living room! (She is so agile that she can run through the house and not bump into or disturb a thing). She has always been an indoor dog, so will patiently wait for you to get home from work--though she will probably be on the furniture before your car leaves the driveway. She does great in the house with cats--even ferrets--and gets along well with other dogs as long as they accept the fact that she is the Queen. She has gone to the dog park in the backseat of my sedan with three other dogs. Though she is obedience trained, Olive is not a good match for the first-time dog owner. She needs a firm leader who will give her clear boundaries.
