About Bandit NEW PUP

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
HELLO EVERYONE, I am Bandit. I am a Cattle Dog/Basenji Mix and boy am I cute!!!! Really I am adorable. I am about 16 weeks old and just a bundle of fun. I am being fostered with other dogs and puppies. I love to play with my foster brothers and sisters. My foster parents just adore me.

I am very much a Basenji. I am very smart and loyal, however I can be stubborn. Also like the Basenji breed I have many cat like behaviors. My foster parents often make fun of me, because they think I walk a bit like a cat? The Basenji's nickname is the cat-like dog. I am not a barker, however I do make some cute yodeling noises when I play. I am easier to train than many Basenji and love to play fetch. As long as I am with my humans, I am happy. My foster mom took me to work and I had a blast. I just loved everyone at the office and everyone loved me - but then again who wouldn't. As I said I love my humans.

My foster parent's think that I am Freckle's litter mate who is also in rescue. Check out some additional photos and videos under Freckles.

I am responsive to my name and correction. I am very loyal to my owners and love to follow them around the yard. When my foster dad comes home from work, I follow him around while he picks up the poo in the yard. I love cuddle time and just love to snuggle in to watch a movie. I love my foster parents and bond very quickly with my humans. I also love to please my humans, which makes training easy. I already know sit, stay, and come and working on consistency. I love to be with my people - if I had a choice between canine companions and humans -- I would choose my humans. My foster mom is really proud of me because I am becoming more obedient and I will go into my crate without fuss - at night I will even go in my crate without being asked. I am working on my potty training and getting much better for my age.

CURRENT SCHEDULE
In my foster home, I have a very consistent schedule, which I like. On weekdays, I get up with my foster parents and am let out of my crate so I can go potty and play with my foster friends. When my foster family leaves for work I head back to my crate. I am really good in my crate. After work my foster family returns and I get to go out and go potty and play with all my buddies again. I LOVE play time. We all get to eat dinner and then play some more. My foster family often watches movies, which is great because I get to cuddle up on the couch with them. I then go back to my crate to sleep - I would much rather prefer to sleep in their bed or room, however they do not have enough room for that. On weekends, the whole day is play time! They even have a dog door that I have learned to use to allow myself in and out so I can go potty as needed. I also love to lay outside in the sun and relax. I LOVE being outside, and I love playing in the kiddie pool with the other dogs to cool down.

MY NEW HOME
I am currently interviewing for my new home. Here is my wish list. I must have a fenced in yard where I can play and chew my bone in the yard. I would love to have a brother or sister I can play with, but I am also great as a sole dog as I truly love my human family. I would love to go places with my foster family and truly be a part of the family. I am OK with someone who works, but I must live indoors - I am not an outside dog. I am still very much a puppy and learning manners, so I want my family to continue my training and take me to obedience school. I am OK sleeping in my crate and being in my crate while you are at work - even though I would prefer to be with my person and family. I would prefer to have an adult home or one with older kids. Please consider me to be a part of your family
