HELLO, I am Freckles. I am a Cattle Dog/Basenji Mix and boy am I cute!!!! I am about 16 weeks old and just a bundle of joy. I am being fostered with other dogs and puppies. I just love to play with my foster brothers and sisters. My foster parents just adore me.
I am very much a Basenji. I am very smart, however I can be stubborn - typical of my breed - if there is a treat involved I am ready and willing. Also like the Basenji breed I have many cat like behaviors. My foster parents often make fun of me, because they think I walk a bit like a cat? The Basenji's nickname is the cat-like dog. My foster parent's think that I am Bandit's litter mate who is also in rescue. I am in the same foster home as Bandit and we play like we have known each other forever. We sometimes even get to sleep in the same crate together. I just love the canine companion and it gives me company at night and while my foster parent's work. My foster mom took me to work and I had a blast. I just loved everyone at the office and everyone loved me - but then again who wouldn't. Check out some additional photos and videos under Bandit. I am responsive to my name and correction. I am very loyal to my owners and love to follow them around the yard. When my foster dad cut the lawn I followed behind him the entire time. I enjoy cuddle time, however I am also independent as well. I must say that I love having a canine companion. My foster mom is really proud of me because I am becoming more obedient and I will go into my crate without fuss. I am working on my potty training and getting much better for my age. I am currently interviewing for my new home. Here is my wish list. I must have a fenced in yard where I can play and chew my bone in the yard. I would love to have a brother or sister I can play with - I truly love my canine companionship and would be best in a home with another playmate. I would love to go places with my foster family and truly be a part of the family. I love to be outdoors and run the yard. I would love to go camping, hiking, running, and walking. I am still very much a puppy and learning manners, so I want my family to continue my training and take me to obedience school. I would prefer to have an adult home who have dog experience as an adult - breed experience would be a PLUS.
