A few days ago I moved into my new foster home in Seattle. I think my foster mom was a little surprised by my size – I'm a pretty big girl and I think she is used to medium size dogs – but she was impressed by how well I did in her small car. I love car rides! I do fine in the front seat, but usually I just sleep in the back seat. I even wait for her to tell me when I can hop in or get out and if she needs to run some errands I wait patiently for her to return. On the way home from the rescue group my foster mom decided to take me to Rub-a-Dub Dog, a self-grooming dog salon. She told me it wasn't because I smelled bad, but because I needed some grooming to reduce my shedding. I'd never been to Rub-a-Dub Dog, but it was pretty fun! My foster mom brushed and washed me for hours! I think we may have broken a record. Even though I barely knew her at the time, I was fine with my foster mom grooming me for FOUR HOURS. In fact, I even fell asleep in the bathtub for a few minutes! By the time we were done I smelled great and was shedding WAY less. At home I sleep on a blanket in the living room. If I start to wander around a lot my foster mom just points to the blanket and tells me to go back there -- and I do. I really like to please her. I know "sit" and "down" and I don't bark unless I need to warn her about someone at the door. Also, I haven't had a single accident in the house. I think my foster mom is most pleased that I'm afraid of cats. Even though her cat is about 1/10 my size and hisses at me, I have no interest in chasing him or anything! In fact, I just want him to leave me alone! One day my foster mom and her friend took me for a 2.5 hour walk through Discovery Park. I think I was pretty great on the leash. I didn't pull and I totally ignored the other dogs. A few people even said I was a really good looking dog. A couple days later she went jogging with me and I stayed right next to her. I really like to go for walks and jogs, but when I'm at home I'm totally mellow. OK, I get a little excited when I see the walking shoes and leash come out. If you think I sound like a good fit for you, please fill out an application and talk to my foster mom! Thanks!
