Australian Shepherd / Mixed : : Male (neutered) : : Young : : Small
Toby was abused as a young puppy by the man of the house, and then tied to a tree all day by the lady of the house ! Tying an Aussie to a tree amounts to torture, and poor Toby was going nuts, he was also emaciated and filthy -- finally he was spotted by dog lover who convinced the couple that they should give him up for his own good. He was lovingly taken care of, bathed, fattened up and socialized. He is now a happy healthy bundle of fun! Aussies, even toy Aussies, are not for people with a sedentary lifestyle.
This is the perfect companion, a wonderful snuggle partner, and all around great dog! Toby LOVES chasing the tennis ball, and can even get his mouth around a normal size tennis ball. He would be fantastic at agility or fly ball, and just needs a person willing to dedicate the time to take him through obedience and other activities to keep him busy!
He knows basic commands, and has wonderful house manners. He is fine with other dogs, but must be introduced to them slowly, Aussies are wary and timid by nature, and he needs time to warm up to new situations. He is overly interested in cats, but I think this could be worked on. Toby is about 15 lbs, so he should not be with dogs that are big unless they are gentle, as he could easily be hurt or overwhelmed by a rambunctious large dog.
Application, screening and home check required before meeting Toby.
He is an exceptional dog who will only go to an exceptional home !
