Boxer / Mixed : : Male : : Baby : : Large
Elliott is a great boy! He is a gorgeous 9 month old AKC registered fawn Boxer. We’re guessing he was the cutest puppy in the litter! He will require structure/routine and a firm but gentle hand to train and develop him into the perfect boy he is destined to be.
He is still a puppy and is extremely energetic! This boy can run and when older will make a terrific running partner! He travels great in the car and will lie down and enjoy the ride. Being a boxer he is all muscle but he still has a puppy brain. He tries very hard to please but sometimes his excitement gets the best of him. This is where the firm and gentle trainer comes in. He suffers from a lack of socialization but he is working very hard with his foster family and making progress every day! Once he realizes you are a friend, he just wants to play and be petted.
He can go from high energy to couch potato in very little time – that mostly depends on what is going on around him. If you are up and about, he just wants to be with you to see what’s going on. If you are watching TV he is perfectly content to lie down and completely willing to snuggle up with you.
He is sweet and sensitive and at times demanding, but he is just trying to find his place in the pack. Elliott needs a family that can spend A LOT OF TIME playing, walking and socializing (both humans and animals). He is being crated during the day while his foster family works to pay for his treats. If you are a family with cats, his high energy may be too much on the kitties! We are working with him and his foster kitties but he cannot be alone with them! We believe he can learn to overcome his desire to whine and run at them, but it will take work and patience. He truly is an amazing dog! With the right family he will flourish and overcome any hiccups in a short time. If you have time and energy and want a devoted loving friend then Elliott is the boy for you!
