German Shepherd Dog : : Male (neutered) : : Adult : : Large
Odin vom Grunenfeld is a classically handsome German Shepherd. He looks so impressive and regal, that it seems almost surprising when he is so outgoing and welcoming to new people. He does well with other foster dogs in his foster home and shares his foster home with a female amstaff and a female Shepherd.. Odin is very affectionate and loves to sleep right next to his foster dad. He is very happy with a walk around the block and playing with his foster sisters. His previous owner used to jog with him so he loves exercise and is great on a leash. He loves to scratch his back by lying on his back and moving all around the rug on his back, legs sticking up. He is house trained, walks well on the leash and loves his daily walks and excellent in his crate. ..He loves his crate so any new adopter will need to have a crate set up for him! Odin has quite the impressive vocabulary with his commands. He has been taught Platz,Here, Come, Okay ( general release word ie. from platz to enter house from outside/enter door after humans when in public, jump down from car, permission to eat)
Leave It (stop pursuing an object), Wait (waiting, from platz position), Watch (eye contact, from platz position) , Left/Right/About Face (directional during on-leash activities), Off (used when walking/running on leash, stepping off higher surfaces like a curb to road), Hup! (release word from platz position to jump into back of vehicle) Easy (usually, “Easy, O”): stay calm, primarily used when on-leash, Quiet (be quiet), Stop (cease whining/scratching/licking, etc), Foot (give paw) , Good boy: praise! (he is moderately to highly excitable with praise)..
Odin also loves loves tennis balls. He loves to fetch his ball..again and again!
He gets along well with his foster sisters and is very gentle. He also loves car rides. He loves his crate and hops right into it when getting into the car!. Odin loves his rope toy and also his sister's flashy ball. He gets so goofy when his foster dad asks him for his rope and prances all around the house talking to her. He will make someone a very loyal and loving companion.
