Kane is a soulfully sweet German Shepherd. He has the classic wonderful combination of Shepherd traits: intensely attentive and focused on his human; sensitive; very smart and intuitive, and an abiding desire to please. He knows all of his commands and his lucky permanent family will surely admire and respect his quick learning style. In fact, with only one training lesson, Kane learned to wait for permission to get in and out of the car, and enter the house after his walk. Since his initial lesson, he has behaved faultlessly. Kane’s recall to the come command is exceptional.
His foster mom reports that Kane enjoys three walks a day and revels in the all the beautiful smells of the Pacific Northwest. His mom has transitioned him to two meals a day but his eagerness to eat is just as strong-- he pirouettes and dances in anticipation of mealtime. Like most dogs, he loves to ride in the car and would love his new family to take him along whether a quick run to the coffee shop or the weekend grocery shopping.
In the evening, after an invitation, Kane looooves his couch, whether cuddling up with mom or lounging solo. Sometimes, Kane’s couch relaxation results in a comfy snooze with an accompanying and endearing snore.
Kane’s sensibilities are impeccable: he never begs for human food and is very gentle and dainty when taking treats from your hand. Indeed, while waiting for mom to get ready, he lays down patiently with his front paws crossed. Then, when she’s ready, he sits ever so politely and turns his head to one side in anticipation of his leash.
Kane is such a great dog that His new home will require just as much love, patience, kindness, and structure as his foster home provides now. He is a sweet, sweet boy and completely worth the investment the right adopter can give. In such a permanent home, he will likely realize the full potential of his intelligence, temperament, and tenacity. This boy is full of love and is ready to share it with his new family.
