German Shepherd Dog : : Female : : Young : : Large
Rachael arrived in Seattle at 9:00 pm on the first snow day of our 2012 winter storm in the PNW. She had travelled in a crate for 36 hours (with a few breaks of course), thanks to the slower than normal driving speeds, and despite her ordeal was happy to finally reach her foster home. There was just enough time left that evening to offer her some food and water before turning in for the night. Rachael is crate trained so she slept peacefully all night long in her crate, not making a peep. In the morning she woke up ready to explore the yard and thankfully reassured her foster mom that she is house-broken. She is simply stunning. Her face is striking with the red and brown markings and her personality is cuddly and playful and she loves to get her belly rubbed. She gets along with her foster mom’s other dogs but what she really wants is to be with her human. She follows her foster mom around the house, and waits dutifully outside the bathroom door while her mom takes a shower in the morning. Rachael loves her food and her foster mom loves feeding time since Rachael is so grateful to have a full belly. Rachael went for her first hike and was a little confused by the hard ice crust which yielded to some soft snow beneath. She took it all in her stride, exploring and enjoying the new sensations. Then she came across a dog that was barking at her from his yard on the other side of a fence. Even though Rachel was on a leash and the other dog was loose in the yard and barking at her, she did not bark back, of course being super wonderful with her training collar on. Her foster mom was impressed. She would be best in a home where she can be the center of attention so a home as an only dog would be idea for her. She is living with other dogs, but typical for female Shepherds, her ideal home is where she can be totally spoiled as the only dog.
Rachael as graduated from a a wonderful 2 week board and train so that she can perfect all of her obedience! Her foster mom donated the cost to get this girl absolutely ready for her new adopters.
