Blanca has just arrived into rescue. This fabulous sized female at about 40 lbs is being fostered in a home with both male and female shepherds, as well as some cats, and she gets along with all members of the household. She is crate-trained, and sleeps in her crate all night long without making a single sound, you wouldn’t even know she was there. Blanca is very easy going and friendly to everyone she meets and this is what her foster mom had to say about her:
“Blanca arrived last night and as it was close to bedtime we had to make all the house introductions very quickly. There was the usual cast of characters that Blanca was going to have to quickly size up and figure out how to deal with. First of all she met the “Iron Lady” Margaret Thatcher, aka Holly, who grumbled at her a little bit, to which Blanca’s response was “well, you don’t like me now, but how about if I play with you?”. Blanca just got down on her belly and wiggled her butt and wagged her tail, and Holly just walked off to observe the new stranger from afar. Next came the “Paris and Nicky Hilton, aka the resident princesses Buttercup and Katie. Things went well with them too, more wiggling the butt and wagging tails. Then it was time to meet the patriarch of the household, Banjo. Blanca just stuck to her MO of wiggling her butt and wagging her tail. All in all, it could not have gone better. Then my housemate came up from the lower floor and Blanca immediately greeted him with kisses. Then we went outside to meet neighbor Molly and her dog Sierra, and there was more tail wagging and kisses. You probably get the picture that she is super sweet and friendly so far to everyone she has met. I put her in the crate overnight and she didn’t make a single sound.
Today I took her jogging with me on the Burke Gilman Trail. She was wonderful. Friendly to all dogs and people that she met. She also got a lot of comments about how pretty she is. She is the type of dog that if you sit outside a Starbuck’s store sipping your coffee, a lot of people are going to want to interact with her. And it’s SO nice to have SUCH an easy foster dog in my house.”
