Princess Lily is a 5 year old, spayed gorgeous female pit bull in need of a good, permanent home. Her current owner obtained Lily from his brother in California who could no longer keep her. He brought her to WA several weeks ago knowing that although his schedule is too busy to keep a dog, he wanted to help her find a forever home. He enrolled her in my 30 day Stay and Train program which she will complete on April 3rd. Commands she is learning include loose leash walking, sit, down, wait, stay, leave it, come here, off, go to your rug, and kennel-up.

Lily has loved every person she's met so far. Her new obedience skills combined with her fondness for meeting new people would make her a great candidate to do therapy dog work. I have had her go nose to nose with several cats to which she showed no interest. She is currently living with other dogs, but her ideal home would be a home where she would be the #1 princess of the home, not sharing the attention with any other dog. She does not do well at dog parks however as she gets too overstimulated in play which causes other dogs to become either frightened or angry with her. When she first moved to Washington, her foster home put her on a slim down plan and she is looking great. She loves going on long walks, exploring in the yard, and laying around the house chewing on a bone. A secure, fenced yard is mandatory. I would prefer that she goes to a home that is bully-breed savvy- -- someone who enjoys the breed but also understands the stigma involved with owning one and the importance of maintaining obedience training. She has six months worth of follow-up lessons with her trainer, after she completes her Stay and Train which will transfer to whomever adopts her. She really is a very nice dog and has been quite easy to live with in my home this past month.
Her foster mom will be conducting interviews and home checks on any potential adopters.
