Piper has just arrived into rescue. Piper was very loved in his home, and very well taken care of. He has gone through 2 levels of obedience classes and was “best in class” earning him his favorite squeaky toy. He is just 8 months old and roughly 45 pounds. He is going to be a big dog—how big? We don’t really know. Piper wants to be in an active home, either as an only dog or with a buddy. He craves companionship and activity. He will need to go to a family that jogs, or active people who enjoy playing hard. Typical of the breed, he is ball crazy. He wants to be a part of every facet of your life, not just a pretty face (although he does have a lovey face!!) . Piper is a terrific dog park dog, he loves all the new friends and smells. Please do breed research, he is a german shepherd/Catahoula mix. These are active dogs, and very vocal dogs. He is not suited for apartment or condo living. He needs a yard and lots of playtime. In return, you will find the most loyal dog you have ever owned. Both of these breeds are well known for their loyalty. This dog has NO bad habits in his foster home, he plays well with other dogs and is being fostered with another Catahoula and a Mini Aussie. He displays normal curiosity about the cats, but backs right off when told to leave it. FENCED YARD REQUIRED FOR ANY OF OUR DOGS!! Please fill out an application to meet me at http://www.washingtongsd.org/application.html The adoption process includes completion of an adoption application, a vet check, a home visit and a lifetime adoption contract.PLEASE NOTE:The information contained within this biography is based on observations from the current foster home.
