French Bulldog (short coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult : : Small
Maxx is an adorable, 5 and 1/2-year-old, brindle, French Bulldog. He weighs 19 pounds.
Maxx has excellent house manners and is calm and well-behaved. He is also crate-trained. Maxx likes to sit and watch TV with his foster mom or find a soft warm place to curl up. He also absolutely loves to sleep in bed with his foster mom at night. Maxx goes to sleep and doesn’t make a peep.
Maxx is being fostered with two other small dogs and has been around other dogs. He was great around small dogs he has met. We did notice he is sometimes uncomfortable of large breed dogs he meets, so we are looking for a home with either no dogs or calm small dogs only. Maxx appears to be stressed out by hyper active dogs so a home with adult or senior dogs is preferred.
We would like to match Maxx up in a home with a single or adult couple who either works from home or is retired. He doesn't have any separation anxiety, but we know he would love that attention. Maxx also loves to go for car rides. Sorry, but we are not looking for is an active lifestyle involving dog parks nor apartment living with lots of people and activity. He really needs a house with a fenced yard where he can enjoy relaxing. Therefore, we are looking for a home with a fenced yard. Please no apartments.
Maxx was surrendered when his owner had a baby. The baby in the household caused Maxx tremendous stress. Maxx is very jumpy and afraid of loud noises and chaos. He needs a nice quiet home. Therefore, we are looking for a home without young active hyper dogs. A home without children. A home without grandchildren visiting.
Maxx was diagnosed with Hemivertebrae. According to UFAW (Universities Federation for Animal Welfare), which outlines the Genetic Welfare Problems of Companion Animals, it is considered a common problem in French bulldogs and other brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds that have screw-tails. All French bulldogs are prone to the problem because the breed has a screw-tail.
The average person wouldn't notice this issue in Maxx. However, due to this, we would love a home for Maxx without other young hyper playful dogs that might want to wrestle or play with Maxx. As well, a home without steps please. However, as far as doggie steps, he uses those to go right up onto the sofa on his own
