Maggie is an absolutely beautiful 2.5 year old, white female German Shepherd dog. Her fosters have been calling her Maggie, which is short for Magnolia, since magnolia flowers are all white! She was surrendered to our rescue due to litter mate syndrome, which occurs when two female dog siblings grow up together. She is so incredibly sweet and loving, and enjoys belly rubs and cuddling on the couch with you. She loves getting pets and she even gives pets back by placing one or both of her paws on you! She aims to please her people and loves following them around. She has loved every person that she meets. They made sure right from an early age that she was comfortable with ear mouth, and paw touching. She has fairly good leash manners, but will need to continue both her leash and obedience training. Luckily, she loves treats so training her will be a fun and bonding experience for both her and her new family. She is crate trained and loves hanging out in her crate during her down time and sleeping in it at night. She loves most dog toys but really gravitates toward plush toys with squeakers, but treats them well and isn't the type of dog to tear them up! She is curious about the cat in her foster family's home, so we would not recommend her going to a house with cats. While she is also living with two other dogs at her foster house, she is a bit timid and shy around other dogs, so we would also recommend that she go to a home without a dog, but to a home with previous German Shepherd experience.
